Grounded in this belief and aligned with AUO’s value transformation across its three pillars—Display, Mobility Solutions, and Vertical Solutions—the Group has focused on advancing the comprehensive development of the Micro LED ecosystem across the value chain, strengthening the technological foundation and collaborative capabilities essential for long-term innovation. Through these ecosystem-level advances, Taiwan’s display industry has been better positioned to compete at the global level and move closer to the vision of bringing Micro LED displays into everyday life. With its transparency and highly adaptable form factors, Micro LED serves as an ideal platform for human–machine interaction amid the rapidly expanding AI landscape, enabling innovative applications across verticals such as smart retail, healthcare, education, and enterprise. In parallel, as vehicles evolve toward software‑ and AI‑defined architectures, Micro LED‑based HMI applications are extending into smart mobility, supporting new in‑vehicle experiences and enabling AUO, through global collaboration and the integration of display HMI, automotive computing, and connectivity, to deliver comprehensive smart cockpit and mobility solutions with partners across the evolving automotive industry.

AUO has also adopted a forward-looking strategy in response to AI trends, leveraging its optoelectronic integration strengths to challenge conventional perceptions of display technologies and create differentiated niche markets. From optical waveguides for AR glasses, enabled by mature nanoimprint processes to achieve lightweight designs and superior color performance, AUO is unlocking new potential at the intersection of AR and AI. AUO has also integrated group-wide resources to advance Micro LED co‑packaged optics (CPO) modules, supporting next‑generation high‑speed AI computing and data‑center applications. Additionally, by integrating sensing technologies with glass substrates, AUO has developed low-Earth-orbit satellite antenna modules that enable real-time connectivity for smart vehicles, delivering enhanced mobility services. These core technologies, rooted in the display industry, are poised to take on new life and expand possibilities in everyday applications.

As a long‑standing and deeply engaged participant to SID and a key driving force behind the global display industry, Dr. Ko has worked across technology innovation, industry development, and ecosystem building to foster cross‑sector dialogue and collaboration. He previously served as Chairperson of the Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA), where he advanced supply‑chain integration and international connectivity, strengthening the role of Taiwan’s display industry within the global value chain. Looking ahead, Dr. Ko will continue to connect global innovation ecosystems and drive the deep integration of display technologies with AI, mobility applications, and diverse vertical scenarios, creating long‑term value for the next phase of development in the global display industry.

During Display Week 2026, the world’s premier event for the display industry, the Society for Information Display (SID) recognized outstanding contributors to the global display sector.
